From Madrid, the quickest way to reach this area is to take the A-1. From this main axis can access the different municipalities that serve as input to the region.

El Atazar:
Access from Madrid by car:
We take A-1 direction to Burgos until the detour to La Cabrera-El Berrueco where we take the exit number 60, there we hook up with the M-127 direction El Berrueco and in this town we hook up with the M-133 that takes us to El Atazar, we have to cross the dam’s wall that way we will arrive to El Atazar
Another option is: Take A-1 direction Burgos until the detour to Torrelaguna (km 50), we take the M-320 to Torrelaguna. Once in Torrelaguna we continue through the M-102 to Patones, from here without detouring we continue on the M-134 until El Atazar’s Dam. We cross the dam and get to the town of El Atazar.

We take A-1 direction to Burgos. In the kilometre 50 we detour to Torrelaguna. Once in the council we take the M-102 to Patones de Abajo. To go to Patones de Arriba we go up from town using the M-192

The Alto Jarama Community counts with a interurban transport service between the councils of El Atazar, Patones de Arriba, Patones de Abajo, Torremocha del Jarama and Torrelaguna.
Workdays there is a microbus that departs practically every hour.
Saturdays, Sundays and festive days: There are four microbuses that go from Torrelaguna to Patones and two the other way around.

To Cinco Villas: Through the A-1 direction to Burgos until exit 67, then follow through the M-135 that will take us directly to Cinco Villas.
To Mangiron: From Cinco Villas take the M-135 until the exit to the M-126 that will take us to Mangiron.
To Paredes de Buitrago: Through the M-135 until the exit to the M-127 that goes to Paredes.
To Serrada de la Fuente: From Paredes take the M-137 to Serrada.
